Peter Ballard of Maldon TT Club, winner of the Over 50 Singles and runner-up in the Veterans Singles.
Tony Halling (back to camera) of Rawreth TT Club and Ian Staff from Junior Coaching contest the Under 13s Singles final which Tony won. Tony went on to contest the Under 15s Final also.
Matthew Staines, currently playing for ECC in division 5 was the surprise winner of the Under 15 Singles beating Tony Halling (back to the camera again!) in the final. Matthew went on to contest the Under 17s final also where he overcame Neil Disley, an even bigger upset. He added a third winners trophy to his collection for the weekend beating Richard Baxter in the Junior Handicap Singles final.
Neil Disley of the Rawreth TT Club, runner up in the Under 17 Boys Singles and also in the Under 21 Singles in which he put up an excellent fight against the much higher ranked player Paul Lucas.
Paul Lucas of Elmtree Graphics on his way to winning the Under 21 Singles. He also partnered the mens champion in the Mens Doubles final, but on that occasion he was on the loosing end.
The Under 17 Girls Singles was won by Leanne Bentley whose picture is featured in the Finals Night report. This picture shows Kay Barham of ECC Club receiving her runners up award in this event from Adrian Sharpe of Tournament sponsors M&G Investment Group.
Tony Halling and Neil Disley both of the Rawreth Club combined to deadly effect to win the Junior (Under 17) Doubles, beating Matthew Staines (ECC) and James Cheeseman (Excalibur)in the final.
Cath Eakin of Maldon TT Club was the winner of the Ladies Singles, returning to the Chelmsford Championships after an absence of 10 years. She also reached the final of the Mixed Doubles with partner David Cole where unfortunately she was not on the winning side.
