League KO Cup Finals

It's Finals time! And the first two events to be played were the Men's KO Cup and the brand new 2Down KO Cup. The pictures tell a little of the story and you can find the detail in the Press Report.

ECC A this season completed the double for the fourth time when they added the Men's KO Cup to their Division 1 Champions title.

Their 5:1 win over Danbury B was perhaps most notable for the one that got away. An excellent win for the vastly improved
Lee Daines over Steve Kerns.

The ECC team of Steve Kerns, Paul Davison and Ian Brown receive the Men's KO Cup

And here there should have been displayed a rare and excellent picture of the runners-up Danbury B.

Featuring Lee Daines, Tony Forster and Ian Whiteside.

Only someone went and inadvertently deleted it from the camera!

Yes, suppose I better own up!
It was an accident honestly!

On the same evening as the Men's KO Cup was the brand new 2Down KO Cup.

The bookmakers had been refusing to take any more bets on the runaway Division 2 Champions Baddow Village A to take this cup in its first season. But as they say, "it's a funny old game". And the Cup often does spring surprises.

None more so than here. Where the ECC team of Bryn Thomas, Keith Woodcock and  Trevor Colin raced into a shock 4:0 lead from which they didn't look back. Taking the title with a magnificent
5:2 win.

Winners of the 2 Down KO Cup

After a magnificent season in the League
Baddow Village A, Waseem Qureshi, Alastair Piper and Adrian Pitt, had to settle for runners-up spot in the 2 Down KO Cup.
