Welcome to the latest edition of Picture News - adopting the current house style.

This edition features some further pictures from the Chelmsford Championships held over the weekend 24 - 26 January 2003. A few more pictures are at Issue 27 (link below). [and please enter the Tournament Caption Competition ]

John Holland
(Elmtree Graphics)
took the Veterans Singles title for the third time, avenging his defeat last year at the hands of
George Reeves (Rawreth).

John also won the
O50's title for the 7th time
 in its 15 year history.

He is seen here receiving
his trophy from
Anna Emtage of Sponsors M&G Investments

Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford
Councillor Rex Bariball presents
Stewart Hiskey (Excalibur) with his Winners trophy
for the
Junior Handicap Singles.

In the Final Stewart had to overcome the odds and 10 year old Hannah Pitt, who had beaten him in the CLICK League a week or so earlier!

Surely the smartest
pair on Finals Night?
John Darling (ECC)
receives his Winners trophy for an excellent victory over Ivan Chaplin in the
O60's Singles

He seems surprised!
Colin Powell
(Hatfield Peverel) receives the Winners trophy on behalf of his partner Allan Thompson (ECC) and himself for victory in the
Handicap Doubles

Neil Gooday
(Baddow Village)
did well to win the Handicap Singles.
Neil was also a semi-finalist in the 2Down Singles and the Handicap Doubles.
