The objective of the League is to promote the game of table tennis and encourage social activities between affiliated clubs.

The League is affiliated to both Essex County Table Tennis Association (ECTTA) and the English Table Tennis Association (ETTA)

The League is centred on Chelmsford, the County town of Essex, and its affiliated clubs come from the town and its immediate surrounds bringing in the villages of Boreham, Danbury, Great Baddow, Hatfield Peverel, Highwood, Ingatestone, Rawreth and Writtle and the towns of Billericay and Maldon.

The League is always willing to consider new members from clubs in and around the Chelmsford area providing they are within reasonable travelling distance of the town centre.

Any club interested in membership of the League should contact
Brian Cook. Applications for membership of the League must be made by the end of June for the season due to start the following September.

The League, which is the largest in Essex, has around 400 members many of whom also play table tennis in neighbouring leagues.

The League is well represented at both County and National level, with members serving on the Essex County Table Tennis Association committee and as National Councillor to the English Table Tennis Association.
